Hearing that my old Art College was being replaced prompted a period of reflection on my time there, the type of work I was making and the memories that the building must hold for everyone who studied and became artists there.

I revisited the building (twenty years later) and captured my struggle to re-navigate the space as I flew a camera drone through the building. The recording of this event presents the building, its traditions and history as something that is becoming transitory and un-tangible.

Note, the soundtrack is for the web version only, this presents silently in a gallery situation. I composed it using Alvin Lucier’s ‘Hartford Memory Space’ strategy, based upon a memory of the sound of the drone flying through the empty building.
