The basic.fm website is no more. It went down suddenly on 22nd January 2015. I guess it couldn’t stay up forever.

Basic.fm was a streaming audio project I developed as part of the Pixel Palace programme I curated. It was a continuous arts focused live broadcast. It was programmed to play 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and it ran for 30 months. Basic.fm connected with hundreds of artists and a range of exciting arts organisations including AV Festival, Grand Union, Banner Repeater, Or-Bits.com, WFMU and The British Library. Basic.fm had many engaged listeners across the globe. So, a big thanks to The Tyneside Cinema for supporting it, to Craig Puranen Wilson for filling it full of life and Andrea Macdonald for the help and encouragement throughout.
